Ball Screw Heat Treatment & Surface Treatment Process

Heat treatment and surface treatment are key manufacturing steps to guarantee ball screw performance. These processes improve surface hardness, wear resistance and anti-corrosion performance of the ball screw shaft.

Heat treatment

The ball screw shaft will go through quenching and tempering. Quenching raises the surface hardness of the screw thread to resist wear under repeated rolling contact. Tempering releases internal stress after quenching, reducing the risk of deformation during long-time operation. Proper heat treatment ensures the ball screw maintains stable precision during continuous operation.

Surface treatment

We can provide customized surface treatment according to customer requirements. Common options include black oxide coating and hard chrome plating. Black oxide offers mild corrosion resistance. Hard chrome plating provides superior wear resistance and anti-rust performance for tough working environments.

Poor heat treatment will lead to fast wear, deformation and loss of precision. Our factory carries out strict QC inspection after heat treatment to verify hardness and surface quality for every batch of ball screws.

We accept custom requirements for heat treatment and special surface treatment for ball screws. Send your technical specification to us and get a quotation for your project.
