Linear Guideway Selection Guide for CNC Equipment
Linear guideways work together with ball screws to deliver precise linear movement for CNC and automation machinery. A proper linear guideway supports heavy loads while maintaining smooth and accurate sliding motion.

When selecting linear guideways, evaluate these main parameters:
Load rating
Check the dynamic and static load rating of the linear guide slider. The load capacity must meet the actual working load of your machine. Multiple sliders can be used to share heavy loads.
Accuracy grade
Linear guide also uses accuracy grades similar to ball screws. High-precision CNC machines need C3 or C5 grade guide rails, while standard automation machines can use normal grade linear guides.
Preload class
Preload removes clearance between balls and raceway. Higher preload improves rigidity but increases friction. Heavy-cutting CNC machines usually need medium or heavy preload.
Rail length and mounting holes
We can cut linear guide rails to custom lengths according to customer drawings. Confirm the mounting hole spacing and total travel stroke before production.
Environmental conditions
Dust, chips and moisture will shorten the service life. In harsh workshop environments, you may need additional dust-proof accessories for the linear guides.
